Righteous in All His Ways
Psalm 145:8–17
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.”

Psalm 145 places grace, compassion, patience, goodness, and righteousness within one portrait of God. His attributes do not compete or require balance from something outside Him.
The Lord is righteous in all His ways. He never acts from corruption, partiality, confusion, or selfish need. Everything He does agrees perfectly with who He is.
This righteousness can unsettle us because we know our own injustice. Yet the psalm immediately calls Him gracious in all His works; holy justice belongs to the same God whose compassion reaches all He has made.
Human justice often becomes selective. We excuse what benefits us, condemn what threatens us, and confuse power with moral authority. God’s judgment has no such shadow.
His kingdom endures through all generations. Earthly systems may delay justice or distort it, but no hidden wrong escapes the final rule of the righteous King.
The Lord upholds those who fall and raises the bowed down. Righteousness is not cold distance; it actively restores those crushed beneath weakness and need.
At the cross, God remains just while justifying sinners who trust in Jesus. Sin is neither ignored nor allowed the last word; its judgment is borne by the righteous Son.
Entrust every unanswered wrong to God without becoming passive toward the good. Practice justice humbly, receive grace gratefully, and rest in the King whose every way is right.
In Conversation with A. W. Tozer
Tozer taught that God’s justice is the way His moral equity appears toward creation. Because God is perfectly one, His justice can never contradict His mercy or love.
Psalm 145 joins these truths in worship. The righteous King judges without error and bends near to uphold those who fall.
A Prayer
Holy God,
Righteous and gracious Lord, correct every distorted measure of justice within me.
Keep me from partiality, vengeance, and despair. Make me courageous in doing right and compassionate toward those who are bowed down.
Thank You for the cross, where Your justice and mercy meet without compromise. I entrust every final judgment to You. Amen.
