Bread from Heaven

The crowd remembered manna and wanted another sign. Jesus redirected their longing from bread that sustains for a day to the Father’s true bread who gives life to the world.

The gift is not first a principle or experience. ‘I am the bread of life.’ God answers the deepest hunger of humanity by giving His Son.

Coming to Jesus and believing in Him are parallel movements. Faith is not distant agreement; it is the hungry soul entrusting itself to Christ for life it cannot manufacture.

We often bring legitimate needs to Jesus while resisting the deeper need He exposes. We ask for improved circumstances, but He offers communion with Himself.

The Father gives a people to the Son, and the Son promises never to cast out the one who comes. No history of failure makes the truly coming sinner unwelcome.

Jesus came not to perform an uncertain mission but to accomplish the Father’s will. He will lose none entrusted to Him and will raise them at the last day.

To feed upon Christ is to receive Him continually through faith—His word, His cross, His risen life, and His sufficient grace. This is not physical consumption but dependent participation in the life He gives.

Bring your hunger honestly. Refuse the substitutes that promise fullness while deepening emptiness. The bread of heaven is not scarce, and everyone who comes to Christ is received.
