Pray for All People
1 Timothy 2:1–7
“Supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.”

Paul gives prayer for all people first importance, extending intercession even to kings and authorities who may not honor Christ.
Prayer refuses to let political loyalty or hostility determine who may be brought before God’s mercy.
We ask for conditions in which people can live quiet, godly, dignified lives. Public peace matters because human beings and gospel witness matter.
Intercession for rulers is not endorsement. It places their power beneath God’s authority and asks that it serve justice rather than destruction.
The reason prayer extends to all is the saving desire of God and the one Mediator who gave Himself as ransom.
No enemy is outside the category of those for whom Christ’s gospel may be announced and mercy sought.
Prayer also changes the intercessor. It becomes harder to reduce a person to a label while regularly asking God for truth, repentance, restraint, and redemption.
Name leaders, sufferers, and opponents before God. Ask for peace without complacency, justice without vengeance, and salvation without partiality.

Wurmbrand urged the free church to remember persecuted Christians and to desire the conversion rather than destruction of persecutors.
Paul gives that double concern a gospel foundation: one God, one Mediator, and a church called to intercede for all kinds of people.
A Prayer
Lord Jesus,
One God and Father, receive prayer for all people.
Restrain rulers from evil, establish just peace, strengthen those who suffer, and bring persecutors to repentance and saving truth.
Free my intercession from partisan limits and shape it by Christ’s ransom. Amen.
