One Body
1 Corinthians 12:12–27
“If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it.”

Paul does not describe the church as a collection of sympathetic individuals but as one body baptized by one Spirit.
Difference is necessary to the body’s health. No member may dismiss another as unnecessary or imagine independence from the whole.
God gives greater honor where the world might see weakness, so that division yields to mutual care.
When one member suffers, the body suffers. Persecution across distance is therefore family pain, not remote religious news.
When one member is honored, the body rejoices without envy. Shared life transforms both grief and celebration.
Remembering the suffering church begins with names, places, prayer, and patient learning rather than dramatic generalization.
It moves toward practical solidarity—giving, advocacy, welcome, encouragement, and faithful use of freedom.
You are Christ’s body and individually members of it. Ask whose burden should become less distant because Christ has joined you together.

Wurmbrand devoted his freedom to making the underground church visible to believers who could pray and act.
Paul provides the deepest reason for that ministry: suffering Christians are not an inspiring category but members of the same living body of Christ.
A Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Head of the church, enlarge my awareness of Your whole body.
Strengthen persecuted believers, provide for their families, and teach free Christians faithful solidarity.
Remove indifference, envy, and imagined independence. Make us one in practiced care. Amen.
