Jesus Christ Is Lord
Philippians 2:5–11
“Every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Paul reveals lordship through the mind of Christ. The eternal Son does not grasp at privilege but empties Himself, takes the form of a servant, and becomes obedient to death on a cross.
Christian courage begins here. Jesus is Lord not because He imitates earthly domination, but because self-giving love has triumphed through humility, obedience, and resurrection.
The Father highly exalts the crucified Son and gives Him the name above every name. No government, ideology, prison, approval, or fear can sustain a rival claim forever.
To confess Jesus as Lord is therefore more than repeating a title. It places body, future, reputation, and allegiance beneath His authority.
Such confession may be quiet in ordinary seasons: telling the truth, refusing corruption, forgiving an enemy, worshiping when distracted, or obeying when no one applauds.
When pressure intensifies, the heart rarely invents a new allegiance; it reveals the one practiced beforehand. Daily surrender prepares us to remain faithful when the cost becomes visible.
Every knee will bow. We do not need to force recognition through anger or fear. Christ’s final vindication allows His witnesses to be humble, patient, and unafraid.
Bow willingly today. Let the mind of the servant King govern one concrete choice, and let your life confess what history will one day acknowledge: Jesus Christ is Lord.

A Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Servant King, I confess that You alone are Lord.
Expose every lesser allegiance that competes for my obedience. Give me Your humble mind in ordinary choices and courage when faithfulness carries a cost.
Let my witness be free from pride because Your exaltation is certain. Amen.
