The God Who Sees in Secret
Matthew 6:5–13
“Pray to your Father who is in the secret place.”

Jesus leads prayer away from the theater of human approval and into the secret place where the Father sees.
The hidden room is not valuable because privacy is holy by itself. It is valuable because communion with God no longer needs an audience.
Persecution may remove buildings, books, music, and companions. It cannot close the inward sanctuary opened by Christ.
Jesus also warns against multiplying words as though prayer could pressure a reluctant God. The Father knows what we need before we ask.
The Lord’s Prayer reorders the soul: God’s name, kingdom, and will before bread, forgiveness, protection, and deliverance.
Daily bread teaches dependence without shame. Forgiveness joins received mercy to mercy extended. Deliverance admits that courage must remain a gift.
Secret prayer forms public faithfulness. A heart accustomed to the Father’s gaze becomes less governable by the praise and threats of people.
Close the door today—not to escape the world, but to meet the Father who sends you back into it with a steadier heart.

Lord Jesus,
Our Father in heaven, hallow Your name in me.
Give daily bread, forgive my sins as You teach me to forgive, and deliver me from evil.
Free my prayer from performance and form in secret a life faithful in public. Amen.
