Surely I Am Coming Quickly
Revelation 22:12–21
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

The final promise of Jesus is personal: “Surely I am coming quickly.” Christian hope does not end with an idea, an improved condition, or even a beautiful city. It ends with the coming King.
He who came once in humility will come again in glory. The child of Bethlehem, the crucified Lamb, and the risen Lord are the same Jesus whose appearing the church awaits.
Quickly does not invite date-setting or restless speculation. It tells every generation that history is moving under Christ’s authority and that His people should live ready rather than spiritually asleep.
Readiness is not anxious calculation. It is faithful love—servants attending to the work entrusted to them, lamps burning, sins confessed, neighbors loved, and the gospel shared.
The promise of His return makes present obedience meaningful. No hidden service is wasted, no suffering for Christ forgotten, and no act of faithfulness will be overlooked when the Master appears.
The Bride answers, “Come.” This longing grows beside concern for those not yet ready. The same chapter invites the thirsty to take the water of life freely. Hope watches and hope welcomes.
Grace has the final word: “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.” The year does not end with our achievement, but with the favor of the One who called, kept, transformed, and accompanied us.
You have spent these weeks with Christ, but the walk continues. Receive His grace for the next faithful step, keep your eyes lifted, and let the last prayer of Scripture become your own: Come, Lord Jesus.

A Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Lord Jesus, You came for us, You remain with us, and You will come again.
Keep me watchful without fear, faithful without pride, and hopeful without distraction. Let the certainty of Your appearing make me holy, generous, courageous, and eager to welcome others.
Thank You for every step of this year with You. By Your grace, keep me walking until faith becomes sight. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

The purpose is not merely to finish the reading, but to behold Christ more clearly and walk with Him more closely.
