Walking with Christ · Volume IV in Summary
IVThe Renewed Mind · Featuring conversations with C. S. Lewis
The journey you have completed
This volume traced the renewal of thought, desire, imagination, and public witness. Scripture has taught you that Christian wisdom is more than correct ideas: it is the grace to see reality truthfully, love what is good, hope for the world to come, and speak with courage and gentleness in this one.
The biblical and thematic arc
You brought assumptions, habits of thought, time, and truth beneath the mind of Christ.
You examined pride, courage, self-control, justice, patience, friendship, truthfulness, and holy desire.
You looked beyond the visible through promise, beauty, story, longing, resurrection, and new creation.
You practiced reasoned hope, grace-filled speech, conscience, justice, citizenship, and resurrection witness.
The heart’s movement
01Thought became attentive
02Desire became ordered
03Imagination became hopeful
04Witness became gracious and clear
The quiet evidence of growth
A renewed mind is not merely a mind with more answers. It is a person increasingly able to recognize what is true, choose what is good, delight in what is beautiful, and respond to others as neighbors rather than opponents.
Christ does not renew the mind so that we may retreat from the world. He teaches us to inhabit it wisely—with moral courage, eternal perspective, intellectual humility, and a hope sturdy enough to be shared.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving
God of truth, renew my mind and reorder my loves beneath the lordship of Jesus.
Give me clarity without pride, imagination without escape, conviction without cruelty, and courage without fear. Teach me to recognize Your light wherever it falls.
May every thought become obedient to Christ and every word become a servant of grace. Amen.
